Bug fixes for invite links

For Users

Fixed
  • Invite links would sometimes not work on the first attempt for a brand new user creating an account.
  • Successfully joining via invite links would sometimes lead to way too many green success notifications. So much success it would make your head spin. You’d get sick of all the success. Now they should be chilled out.

For Admin

New
  • When setting up an integration, you will now specify which set of people (voters vs. Reach Adds) it should process. Should lead to more effective VAN integrations.

Small improvements and tweaks

For Users

Improved
  • You can now page through your history on the My Reach tab to go back as far as you want.
Fixed
  • Fixed a formatting issue with the header of the My Account screen for new users who are not yet members of any campaigns.
  • Trying to refresh your browser while on the chat tab would sometimes fail.

For Admins

Fixed
  • Tooltips were offset incorrectly when the admin sidebar was collapsed.
  • The count of “People Reached” on the users admin table and Stats drawer was wrong for newer campaigns.

Small improvements and tweaks

For Users

Improved
  • Better spacing for the header of the home screen on desktop for campaigns without logos.
Fixed
  • If external links on your action cards were invalid, it could make you unable to tap on them, even once you fixed the links. Now, the Call-to-Action buttons should work any time the link is valid.
  • Some users were seeing red connection errors when app-switching to Reach. No more.

For Admins

Improved
  • New reminder on Campaign Settings screen to add a logo when you’re configuring your Home Screen.
  • Help tooltip to explain the Expiration Date field in Action Cards Admin.
Fixed
  • You were able to save invalid external links on your action card. Now we’re going to force you to include http:// or https://
  • The image preview for the icon fill now fits better in its container.

Feast your eyes and fingers on the all new design for the Home Screen and Action Cards making them better and more action-y than ever! Now, every card can be expanded into a full-screen view with a beautiful animation, each card can have a customized Call to Action button which appears in the feed and the Details view, cards can have Banner Images, and users can see when cards are pinned to the top and when each card was published.

Improved
  • The Contact Actions sub-header on the Person Profile screen is now smoother and more reliable.
  • Pull-to-Refresh looks better and works better on the Person Profile Screen
  • Shadows look better and more consistent throughout the whole app.
  • On the Person Profile screen, the Add User button is easier to tap now.
  • In Chat, the Message Read indicators no longer will say “and 0 more”. That was silly.
Fixed
  • When joining a new campaign by invite code or invite link, you may have seen a red error notification even when it worked great. Sorry for the false alarm.
  • Sometimes My History was appearing empty for users who had canvassed a LOT of voters. Awesome work on that Reaching. It should now show you your 50 most recent interactions. Coming soon, you’ll be able to page through more.
  • On Web, after selection a contact script, it was possible for scrolling to stop working correctly for a bit. All fixed.
  • Sometimes, Reach was confused about your device’s push notification settings. It’s seeing more clearly now.
  • Logging out is a bit more reliable.
  • The header Save animation on the Person Profile screen failed to animate in some cases. That is now fixed.
  • When deciding to trigger a contact action without using a contact script, Reach will no longer deselect your script and look confused.
  • When adding a user from the Person Profile screen, toggling the SMS switch was re-drawing the page. Yuck.

For Admins

Improved
  • Majorly revamped Action Cards admin. Now you can add banner images, customize the Call to Action label, and even set an expiration date.
Fixed
  • When adding users from Admin you were previously not able to specify their role. That is now fixed.
  • Fixed a typo in Notifications admin.
  • When uploading images to Reach, certain advanced options like Image Search and importing images from social media weren’t working perfectly. They should be all better.

  • Message with external apps. Now when you tap the “Message” button on a person’s profile and you pick a contact script, you can decide to use either the standard SMS/iMessage app on your phone or you can now choose to use an external app like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Signal, or any other app you have on your phone. More ways to contact voters and spread the word!
Fixed
  • On web, the background color on the contact script picker was a little off. Cleaned that right up.
  • On web, scrolling on the My Reach screen was not working great.

For Admins

Improved
  • In the Contact Scripts admin screen, the “SMS” scripts have been renamed “Messaging” scripts since they now apply to more than just SMS.
Fixed
  • We had been only showing you your first name in the admin toolbar. That’s fixed. Now you’ll no longer wonder who you are.
  • Fixed an issue where adding a new survey question to a live question set could deactivate that set.
  • Fixed an issue where you couldn’t save changes to a contact script in some circumstances.

  • Integrations Admin. You can now create and manage your integrations yourself. Enter API keys, edit settings, turn features on and off, and more. Keep in mind that the number of integrations you can setup is based on your Reach subscription level.
  • Slack Integration. To go along with our new integrations admin, we new have a simple Slack integration to let you know in a Slack channel of your choice when your users are saving responses.

This version lays the groundwork for more great things to come and adds a whole bunch of nice bug fixes and improvements, including the new Rankings Screen now on web!

For Users

New
  • New Rankings Screen on Web. The redesigned Rankings screen from v1.11.0 that you’ve been enjoying in the native app is now also looking hot in the web app.
  • Upload a Profile Pic when first creating your account. Profile pic upload has been added to the account creation flow so new users can get started with a profile pic right away. For existing users, it’s not too late. You can always add a profile pic from the My Account screen.
Improved
  • You can now Pull-to-Refresh on the home screen so you don’t have to wait one more second for the freshest Action Cards.
  • In Chat, the send button now changes colors when you have entered a message and giphy embeds look cleaner.
  • Action Cards with external links open in a nifty modal browser on native and in a new tab on web.
Fixed
  • In some cases, Search Filters with a very long list would not work properly.
  • On the My Account screen, the Add User button was still there for inactive campaigns. We can’t have that!
  • In some cases, if an iOS user had deleted the stock Mail app from their phone, they would get a crash when trying to send email from Reach.
  • Removed a mistaken drop-shadow from the Action Menu on Android.
  • Font was wrong in a link preview in Chat.
  • In some cases, for large chat channels, the unread message count in the Reach nav bar could be unreliable.
  • On the web app, we’ve fixed a few areas where resizing your browser window could lead to ugly side affects. Specifically, the header on the Person Profile Screen and the Campaign Settings button on the My Account screen are now much more adaptable to various screen sizes.
  • Scrolling issues when the Tag Picker was up on the Person Profile screen in the web app.

For Admins

New
  • Database Infrastructure Updates. While it won’t look like much from the outside, we’ve made some more major improvements to the way we handle voter files and data sets under the hood which will make us faster and more flexible when working with your data.
Improved
  • You’ll now see your users’ profile pics in the Users Admin screen. Don’t they look goooooood?
  • If you’d like, we can now completely hide the “Details” section from the Person Profile screen. Just let us know!
Fixed
  • There was some messy styling at the bottom of your admin tables in the “Rows per page” area.
  • Deleting Push Notifications was not a smooth experience.
