Release Notes

1.12.13

Released October 16, 2020

We’ve expanded the Rankings screen to give you a clearer view into the work you and your campaign are doing and the impact it’s having.

For Users

New
  • New “People Contacted” and “People Surveyed” Leaderboards. The rankings screen now goes deeper and lets you see how many people you’ve contacted and how many people you’ve saved Survey Responses for.
Improved
  • When a Social Media Share Action Card only includes a link with no message, the iOS Share Sheet preview will show the link.
Fixed
  • There was some weird wrapping going on with the Relationship Type picker if you had long Relationship Type names.

For Admins

Improved
  • We tweaked the name of the column in the Admin Users screen to be “People Contacted” instead of “People Reached” to be more in line with the new rankings screen.
  • You can now filter your user list based on count of relationships, people contacted, and people surveyed!
  • We’ve added some more helpful text to better explain the various fields when you’re making a new Social Media share action card.

1.12.12

Released October 14, 2020

Another new action card type, coming atcha! You can now make action cards specifically designed to allow your users to share content to their social media! Spread the word far and wide!

Plus, a more useful tags admin screen!

For Users

New
  • New “Share with Social Media” Action Cards. Take advantage of your social media influence to help your campaign! Campaigns can now make action cards which let you easily share content and links from the campaign via social media. These work in the app and on the web. Sharing is caring!
Improved
  • Selected tags now sort better when using the Tags picker.
  • Saving from the Person Profile screen should be more reliable.
Fixed
  • There was a bug in the app that would stop the app from working when you rotated your iPad to a new orientation. That has been fixed.
  • It was possible to pull-to-refresh on the Person Profile screen while you had unsaved changes and end up in a confusing state. That is no longer possible.

For Admins

New
  • Redesigned Tags Admin screen. You can now sort and filter tags and control which tags should or should not appear in the Quick-Filter bar on the network screen and which tags should be Locked so your users can’t add or remove them.
  • Create “Share with Social” action cards.
  • Revised Stats columns on Users Admin. Rather than just seeing a vague “People Reached” number, we’ve now broken that out into three separate columns. “People Reached” now just means people who a user has saved survey responses for, “People Contacted” means anyone the user has contacted using any Reach contact Action, and “Relationships” means anyone a user has added to their Network.
  • Expanded Stats tab in User Admin drawer now includes the three stats mentions above, but also a detailed breakdown of how many people a user has contacted using each type of contact action.
  • Contact Actions exports now include Action Card ID column for contact actions which came from a Share with Network action card.
Improved
  • When creating and editing Action Cards, you can now tab directly from the title field into the description field.

  • It should now be possible to swipe down to close certain full-screen pop-ups on Android like contact import and Action Card Share screens.
Fixed
  • We have made some improvements to speed up loading people’s profiles and saving responses.

For Admins

New
  • On the Users admin screen, you can now filter the list by phone number.

1.12.10

Released October 1, 2020

What?! A whole new type of Action Card? Specifically designed for GOTV mobilization? You betcha. And it lets you message everyone in your Network super fast? Yup. And it keeps track of your progress and you can earn Action Points per contact? Oh yes.

Plus, more sorting options on the Network screen!

For Users

New
  • New “Share with network” Action Cards. It was always great to be able to tap into voters in your Network and then use contact scripts to message them. But sometimes, if your campaign needs you to message a lot of your contacts with the same script, that method was a bit slow and cumbersome. Well now your campaign can create a new type of action card that lets you quickly tap the button on the card to open a list of everyone in your Network with a Contact button next to their name. Tap that button and pick which method you want to use to contact them and we’ll pre-fill the proper script for you. As soon as you send the message, that contact’s button will turn green and you can move on right down the list. You can even sort and filter this list just like the normal Network screen.
  • More Network Screen Sort Options. You can now sort your network view by how recently each person was added to your network and how recently you’ve last contacted each person!
Improved
  • Reach is now way faster popping between the person profile screen and the list views of people. No more waiting for the person to load or having bits of the screen moving around under your finger as it fills in.
Fixed
  • It was possible for people to keep working in an inactive campaign. That should be less possible now.
  • There was a spacing problem on the Add User screen so the Add button in the header was cut off. No more.

For Admins

New
  • Action Card Form Redesign and Card Preview. Creating and editing Action Cards should be more fun and efficient than ever before with a whole new flow for that admin screen. We now even include a live preview of the action card so you can see exactly how it will look to your users in the app. And don’t forget about the new “Share with Network” option for the Call to Action button!
  • Introducing our Tags API endpoints! These endpoints will let you make and manage tags via API, including adding and removing tags from people. Great for marking who is in your turnout universe or who has already sent in their absentee ballots. They are available for anyone on a Reach Movement subscription who has access to the API.
Fixed
  • We’ve fixed a bug that was preventing you from deleting relationship types.

1.12.9

Released September 15, 2020

Action Cards are still improving! Can’t stop, won’t stop. Now your Action Cards can be worth points! What do these points get you? Well that’s up to your campaign. But you know you want ’em.

Plus, the Network screen has gotten way more powerful with quick filtering and type-to-filter.

For Users

New
  • Action Card Points. Look for the new marker on the Action Cards on your home screen to see if they’re worth points! When you check them off, those sweet sweet points are yours! We’ve also tweaked the design of pinned cards.
  • Action Points Leaderboard. Now that you can earn points, you also need a way to track them. Check out the new Action Cards leaderboard on the Rankings screen to compete for the most points.
  • Network Screen Filtering. Ever had that thing happen where you’ve got so many people in your Reach Network that it’s hard to keep track of them all? We know the feeling. Luckily, you can now filter your Network screen by relationship type, tag, or even typing the name you’re looking for!
Improved
  • Contact Import improvements. It is now much faster and smoother to leave contact import mid-way through and pick up later where you left off. Reach will remember your work and make it snappy to resume. There’s also now a close button on the Contact Import match list screen to help you leave and come back later.
  • If you’re offline and you un-check an Action Card, it will appear properly sorted by date back in your Action Feed.
  • Toggle Switch accessibility styling is easier to see.
  • On desktop, Home screen tabs will huge the middle and look better rather than spreading way out on that big screen of yours.
  • If Contact Import search times out (and we sure hope it doesn’t), Reach will give you more information and a smoother experience.
  • Filter settings from the Search Refine screen and the Network screen are now better remembered between many campaigns.
Fixed
  • A little bit of ugly had crept into the otherwise gorgeous action card animation from feed view to details view. That’s gone.
  • It was possible to save changes to your user profile with no name or nor email address. That should not be possible.
  • On Mobile Safari, Action Cards were missing their shadows, like Peter Pan. No more.
  • No more horizontal scroll bar on home screen on the desktop web app.

For Admins

New
  • Action Card Points. When creating and editing Task type action cards, you can now choose how many points they’re worth.
  • Contact Actions Syncing to VAN! The My Voters and My Campaign integration each now include five new integration features which will sync a contact history entry to VAN every time a Reach user triggers a contact action. You can even specify different Contact Types in the integration settings!
Improved
  • When creating or editing contact scripts, it is now much easier to use template tags. They are easier to select, and even have a little ‘Copy’ button to help you grab them. You will also not be able to save a script if there is a mis-typed template tag in it.
  • Tool Tips on hover are more compact and easier to read.

1.12.8

Home screen so tabby!

For Users

  • Pagination in normal search results took two taps. Now it only takes one.
  • The relationship type picker during contact import was full-width when it should have been boxed.

For Admins

Fixed

1.12.5.4

Released July 31, 2020

Fixed some bugs and made some improvements from yesterday’s release.

For Users

Improved
  • During contact import, Reach will now pre-select the first phone number and email address of each contact so you are less likely to forget this step and fill up your network with people who are missing their contact info. We give preference to mobile numbers. You can, of course, always still deselect any contact info you don’t want to include.
  • Added a helpful redirection note to the “More” menu for users who were looking for the old method of adding a voter to their network.
  • The match-count badge in contact import now maxes out at 99+ matches.
Fixed
  • Long contact script names now better wrap to multiple lines in the web app.
  • After adding a person, the navigation flow should be a bit smoother.
  • Fixed a crash when adding people without relationships.
  • Fixed some crashes when importing contacts before all your campaign’s relationship types had fully loaded. Especially for brand new users.

For Admins

Improved
  • We now sort the VAN Mapping Destination objects by cycle.
Fixed
  • Type-to-filter in the VAN Mapping drop-down was not working for a hot second there.
